Read this scenario:
“A king who ruled a small country was about to enter a war, being new to such challenge, the king felt like he’s going to lose the war and probably die…
One night he was standing on the roof of his castle, enjoying the beauty of his country and feeling sorry about what would happen to it after losing the war, when he heard the laughter of a young girl playing on the other side of the roof… The king called for her and sat her on his lap, he asked her wasn’t she scared of the war, she answered him back no, he smiled and asked about the reason, she replied “it’s because this country is ruled by a wise man, who is strong enough to defend his home and I know that you won’t let your people down, we all have Faith in you!”
Faith (noun), according to Cambridge Advanced Learner’s dictionary, is defined as “great trust or confidence in something or someone”.
How many times you were facing a hard situation and you thought that it was the end of the world; then you get recharged with positive energy through someone who could be a friend, a quote, a song or a total stranger passing by, and that energy suddenly changed your mind and gave you a great faith in yourself and a great push for you to overcome whatever you thought was hard to accomplish.
Most people think that faith is only related to believing in God and how strong is your relationship with Him, but this word is far beyond that meaning; having faith in something or someone is one of the major internal feelings that gives us internal peace.
Let’s take a look at that previous scenario, it is not a real one but let’s be imaginative a little bit… Imagine yourself that king, and the small girl is anyone who is so dear and you feel protective of, how could such little girl with one simple sentence change how you “the king” felt towards that war you were entering? I bet that you all would gain self confidence, not that strong, but enough to make you believe that you can win, enough to make you think positively!
Between any two individuals in love, having faith in each other is one of the major keys in the success or the failure of the relation, it makes each individual work harder to make the other one proud and happy. Even among family members, besides having faith in God, having faith in parents is enough to provide safety and comfort, and that makes both parents work harder to see happiness in their children’s eyes.
So we all agree that having faith in other people makes them try harder to achieve whatever they feared at first, it’s like giving them support to move forward, so what about having faith in yourself?!
Consider your body and soul a piece of metal and the world around you is a magnetic field full of different types of energy and only YOU have the power to attract and repel whatever you really want. It’s only you who can attract positive energy that keeps you going, and only you who can attract negative energy that makes you feel so helpless. It all depends on faith, how STRONG you believe in yourself, and how much you trust your abilities.
Needless to say, that beside having faith in yourself and those around you, you have to have faith in God, believe that He will never make you face anything that you won’t be able to overcome, He will never make you face a challenge that you won’t be able to accomplish, for God knows the ability of each one of us, what you’re capable of doing and what you’re not capable of, what would change your life to a better one and what would be a lesson for future.
And at the end, I would like to share this part of one of my favorite songs for Josh Groban:
“Believe in what you feel inside,
And give your dreams the wings to fly.
You have everything you need,
If you just BELIEVE”
